SAVE THE PATHOLOGY PIPELINE

On Giving Tuesday (Dec. 3rd) and throughout the year, don’t forget your opportunity to make a difference in the lives of future pathologists! Contribute to APC’s Society of ’67 programs to cultivate and inspire students and trainees. Join your colleagues who have donated and made these programs possible! Your contributions will help fund:

  • Open Access Publication Awards: $1250 covers a research article and $500 covers an education case published by a student, resident or early career pathologist (27 awards given in 2019);
  • Scholars Travel Awards: $2500 sponsors one medical student or resident to attend the APC Annual Meeting and see the future of academic leadership (19 awards given in 2019); and
  • Trainee Project Grants in Health Services Research and Education: Give up to $5000 to fund a pathology trainee to innovate or address a healthcare quality, cost or access issue
    (5 projects completed in 2019).

APC 2020 ANNUAL MEETING

APC returns to the iconic Hotel Del Coronado beach resort near San Diego, California from July 19 to 22, 2020. Join your colleagues for this annual opportunity to network and learn in an intimate setting. The meeting opens with a Welcome Reception on Sunday, July 19th (5:00 pm); formal programming continues from Monday, July 20th through Wednesday, July 22nd. Programming for all APC Sections over three days will include boot camps, sessions, discussion groups and workshops that will give you tools to help your academic department survive and thrive. A sample of Chairs Joint Program topics includes: Optimizing Departmental Effectiveness and Faculty Productivity, Advocating for Pathology in Funds Flow Models, The Role of Pathology in Therapeutics, Integrating Lab Medicine into the UME Curriculum, The Future of Graduate Medical Education.
