History
Past PLA courses have been held in person, immediately preceding the APC Annual Meetings in 2016, at the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, CA, in 2017, at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC, in 2019 at the Boston Seaport World Trade Center in Boston, MA, and in 2022 and 2023 at the Swissôtel in Chicago, IL. All programs were designed by APC’s Leadership Development & Diversity Committee to build and strengthen leadership skills and knowledge for current and future leaders in academic pathology. Course content included topics specifically relevant to academic pathology, as well as more general leadership-related material. Didactic and interactive sessions were provided by national leaders. Following the course, participants are welcomed and encouraged to attend the APC Annual Meetings to expand their knowledge about important issues, trends, and opportunities relevant to academic pathology departments and network with national leaders. APC Annual Meeting registrations are separate from the application and registration process for the Pathology Leadership Academy.
