Title: AAPath Virtual Town Hall: The New Realities in Research Funding

Description: With the new administration’s executive orders, actions, and activities that are impacting academic institutions, the AAPath is convening its members (especially Chairs, Vice Chairs, and Executives/APEX) to join a Virtual Town Hall on the New Realities of Research Funding. While this is a first in a series on the academic department’s mission areas -- to share experiences and strategies on adapting to and weathering the upheavals, both due to federal funding and state or local institutional budget cuts -- the AAPath Advocacy Committee is seeking your input on other priority mission areas for you, your faculty, and department during the Zoom registration process. Please complete the assessment as you sign up and register to attend this first Virtual Town Hall. Sessions will be recorded and be available to AAPath members approximately a week later on the AAPath Virtual Events webpage: www.academicpathology.org/past-virtual-events. Facilitated by members of the AAPath Advocacy Committee, Dr. Dan Remick (Boston Univ) and Dr. Karen Kaul (NorthShore/Endeavor Health), with the AAPath Research Committee Chair, Dr. Nitin Karandikar (Univ of Iowa), and Vice Chair, Dr. Dan Brat (Northwestern Univ).
