Consolidated Regional Meeting of Chairs and Administrators

 

Thank you to the participants of the 2025 Consolidated Regional Meeting!

The Association for Academic Pathology was pleased to invite Department Chairs and Administrators to attend the first-ever AAPath Consolidated Regional Meeting on January 17-20, 2025 for a weekend of activities, networking and discussion of timely topics in the beautiful surroundings of Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, conveniently located near Los Angeles and Long Beach airports. Thank you for joining us as we continued the tradition of intimate regional meetings in an exciting new format and venue!

The meeting began with a welcome reception for all attendees and guests on Friday, January 17th. Breakfasts were provided for registrants on the mornings of January 18th and 19th, followed by break-out discussion sessions for Chairs and Administrators (by region), capped off by reports out to each other in combined plenary sessions. Optional group recreational activities (details here) were planned for Saturday and Sunday, January 18th and 19th. Group check-out was on Monday, January 20thA draft program is available here.


This was an in-person only event. There was no remote participation option and the events were not recorded. Registration was open only to current Chairs and APEX members. 

Registration Details:

The registration fee for this event was $900 per Chair or APEX member and included the welcome reception (Friday night), breakfasts and breaks (Saturday, Sunday) and two optional group activities for the registrant.

Guest Registration Option:

The guest registration fee was $450 per guest and included the welcome reception (Friday night) and two optional group activities for the registered guestAll guests must have been registered.

Optional Group Activities:

The registration form included a menu of optional group activities from which registrants (and their guest(s)) could choose two from the list below or "none" to opt out of the group events. Up to ONE activity per day was scheduled on Saturday and Sunday at 2:00pm based on your selections in the registration form.

 Hotel Reservations:

  • The group hotel reservation link was provided in your registration payment confirmation message.
  • The substantially discounted hotel group rate of $395 plus $25 resort fee per night, plus tax and gratuity, was not included with registration. Attendees were responsible for their hotel costs, including cancellation penalties. A credit card for deposit and payment was required with the hotel reservation.
  • The core stay for the AAPath Consolidated Regional Meeting was Friday, January 17th to Monday, January 20thOnce your core stay was secured through the group reservation link, additional nights at the group rate on shoulder dates could have been reserved on a space-available basis by calling the Terranea Resort Reservations Department at (855) 441-2575 or contacting the AAPath office at [email protected].
  • A specific view or bedding type could have been requested, but was not guaranteed. Attendees may have been assigned resort view or ocean view with either (1) king or (2) double beds upon arrival, based on resort room inventory availability.

Resort Fee details are below. Please note that the Resort Fee was discounted substantially for this group and could not be waived or discounted further. The Resort Fee included:

    • Wireless internet (5Mbps) for up to three devices in-room (with additional hard-wired access), and all public space for resort guests (not applicable for meeting rooms and The Spa)

    • In-room coffee and tea set up
    • Two bottles of water placed in-room upon check-in
    • Nightly turndown service upon request
    • Self-guided walking maps curated by the resort’s naturalist, available upon request

Registration Cancellation & Waitlisting:

When your registration invoice was fully paid, your participation in the AAPath Consolidated Regional Meeting was secured. Refunds were provided if AAPath was able to resell the open seat from a waitlist established once the first 100 seats were filled. Last-minute medical and family emergencies that precluded participation were considered for refunds on a case-by-case basis with written notification. Written notification must have been sent to [email protected].

Events and listservs managed or held by the Association for Academic Pathology (AAPath) exist for the professional development of members and for the advancement of academic pathology. Members and guests of events and listservs are expected to conduct themselves with professionalism, cordiality and respect.
