AAPath’s Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI), Accessibility and Belonging
AAPath is committed to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive academic pathology community that supports and enhances health, education and training, and the discovery and dissemination of new knowledge.
Our goal is to support our members in achieving their maximum potential and enhancing the discipline of pathology.
- We embrace diversity in all its facets, such as gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, geography, institutions, socioeconomic, abilities, generation, discipline, and lived experiences.
- We seek to achieve equity by providing opportunities that address all forms of disparities.
- We celebrate and leverage our differences to ensure a vibrant organization and a respectful, inclusive work environment for members and staff, and a culture that prioritizes the highest quality, transformative patient care, research and education for everyone.
DEI is a cross-cutting theme throughout the programs and activities of the organization.
Cognizant that concepts and perspectives of diversity, equity and inclusion continue to evolve over time, the AAPath Commitment statement shall remain a living document subject to change. The AAPath Council will periodically reevaluate this commitment and welcomes feedback from members.
