The premier leadership conference for academic pathology returned  to San Diego, with our gaze fixed firmly on the future. This year’s theme was Crafting the Vision to Lead. Plenary sessions scanned the horizons of our specialty, focusing on the changing financial landscapes and organizational models of pathology practice; on enlightened strategies to prepare a diverse, visionary pool of trainees and faculty for future leadership; on groundbreaking instruments and techniques that extend our view; and on discoveries in research and education that spotlight the critical role of pathology.
