The Undergraduate Medical Educators Section (UMEDS) provides a forum to eligible undergraduate medical (medical school) educators in Pathology, for the exchange of information and ideas and for the participation in programs that would facilitate the continued development and enhancement of undergraduate medical education in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. UMEDS was originally called the Course Directors Section (CDS) and was formed by the Association of Pathology Chairs in 2005.
